OUR STORY
The More the Merrier
Born in Lisbon, raised in London. Born in London, raised in Lisbon. Three generations, two cities, one family. Nuno, Catarina, and Tiago blend Portuguese roots with English charm to create the Silva Lining Band. The more the merrier is the family motto, and the Silvas live by it.
Since the end of 2023, the band has released more than 30 original songs while working with over 20 musicians. Their catalogue spans their debut album "Lisboa", their live album "Live at Parque Mayer", and a string of singles weaving together funk, jazz, blues, soul, and rock.
In 2025, their song "Never Leave Again" earned them the Best Rock Performance award at the International Portuguese Music Awards. In 2026, the band continued expanding its collaborative work, releasing songs with Sarah Jane Morris, Lee Wilson, and Mishell Ivon.
Their music has surpassed four million streams and reached more than 1,500 radio stations worldwide, with support from SmoothFM, BBC Radio Wales, Antena 1 and others. Silva Lining Band has also appeared on Portuguese national television, including RTP1.

Meet Tiago, Catarina and Nuno
At the centre of Silva Lining Band is a creative partnership shared across two countries and three generations.
TIAGO SILVA
Singer, Songwriter, Guitarist & Producer
Born in London and raised in Lisbon, Tiago is the founder and creative driving force behind Silva Lining Band. He writes, sings, plays guitar and produces, guiding the music from its earliest idea through to the finished recording.
His approach keeps the band’s catalogue open and varied: one release may sit firmly within jazz or soul, while another moves through funk, blues or rock. Working closely with Catarina, Nuno and the wider band, Tiago shapes the musical direction while leaving room for every musician’s character to be heard.
CATARINA SILVA
Singer & Songwriter
Born in Lisbon and raised in London, Catarina is Tiago’s sister and a central voice within Silva Lining Band. As a singer and songwriter, she brings a strong melodic instinct and a distinctive presence to both the recordings and live performances.
Her creative connection with Tiago is rooted in family history, shared musical references and two different experiences of Lisbon and London. Silva Lining Band has become the most ambitious expression yet of her life in music.
NUNO SILVA
Percussion
Born in Lisbon and raised in London, Nuno is Tiago and Catarina’s father. His connection with rhythm began when the sound of Santana drifted from his sister’s room, inspiring a lifelong love of drums and percussion.
His career has taken him before audiences of more than 50,000 and to stages including Alexandra Palace, Ronnie Scott’s and the 100 Club. He has worked with artists including Georgie Fame, Sarah Jane Morris and Eddi Reader, and appeared on BBC’s Top of the Pops in the early 1990s. Within Silva Lining Band, his experience anchors the family across three generations.
